As a real-time collaboration platform, CoScreen highly depends on a good internet connection between you and your team members. It achieves a very high screen sharing quality and low remote control latency under most circumstances.
But if you're facing any issues, here's what you can do to optimize your connection:
- Make sure you that every other participant has a fast and stable internet connection with at least 5Mbps up- and download (test your connection here: https://test.8x8.vc).
- Make sure your system does not have a packet loss of more than 2% as video conferencing quickly becomes unstable above that threshold no matter the provider. Check it out using https://packetlosstest.com.
- If you see issues, try restarting your wifi router/modem if you can, get closer to the access point or test it with an alternative internet connection.
- Last but not least, check out the results of this WebRTC connection tester:

Please note that CoScreen usually works the fastest if there are only two participants who can connect P2P (peer-to-peer, so without having a corporate proxy, firewall or intermediate server between them).
As soon as there are three or more participants or a direct connection cannot be established, the traffic will be routed via our globally distributed video infrastructure which ensures connectivity in all circumstances. This can slow down the connection slightly.
Your local system consumption can also have a considerable impact on your experience. Check out this article for further details:
