Over the course of the private beta phase we have learned a lot from the pioneering teams who have adopted CoScreen for their synchronous collaboration needs. In this post we are summarizing the tricks and best practices from our user community on how they have adopted CoScreen to become more productive.
Best Practice #1 - Create distinct CoScreens for your collaboration scenarios
Many teams are creating distinct CoScreen for different contexts, e.g. by purpose and by group of attendees.
For example, if Alice does frequent check-ins with Bob she simply creates a CoScreen called 'Alice/Bob' and then share the invite link with Bob. And if she also has regularly checkpoints with her fellow engineering leads, she simply creates a CoScreen called "Eng Leads".
This ensures that both of them always know which CoScreen to join and that no one else has access.
We're using the same approach at CoScreen where we have dedicated CoScreens for team meetings, leads meetings, as well as for all our 1:1s. We also create distinct CoScreens whenever we connect with new/external users to keep permissions straight forward.
Best Practice #2 - Add CoScreen links to your meeting invites for planned and recurring collaboration sessions
Once you've implemented best practice #1 and created distinct CoScreens, you can simply add the link of a CoScreen to a meeting invite by entering it into the location field in Google Calendar or Outlook. That way whoever joins a meeting can connect to the right CoScreen with a single click.
Best Practice #3 - Install the CoScreen Slack app to quickly jump onto CoScreen for unplanned, ad-hoc collaboration sessions
The most successful teams also integrate CoScreen with their chat platform of choice, in many cases that's Slack.
Once you install the CoScreen Slack app in your workspace you'll be able to type /coscreen and all members of the Slack channel can join the same session with a single click.
Best Practice #4 - Quickly join a CoScreen by using the menu bar quick access menu
The menu bar icon gives you quick access to the most common features such as joining a CoScreen and copying an invite URL. If you're in between sessions you can use the "Join Another CoScreen" feature to quickly jump between them.
Start to CoScreen by typing https://cs.new into any browser. This will launch CoScreen immediately so you can jump into a new CoScreen and collaborate right away.
